and Now..: The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment

5.0 out of 5 stars and Now…, January 24, 2002
By Alexander E Mandel (San Mateo, CA United States)

I picked up “The Power of Now” in the “New Age” section of the bookstore. I was determined to make the reading about “spirituality” a short episode in my life… and I was probably right, as far as the reading goes, that is.I got the book and continued reading at home, and, as I often do with study guides and textbooks, started underlining what seemed most important. Soon it became harder to separate the important from the unimportant, because it all seemed important! Then, I stopped, put down the pencil and said: “Wow!”

Excellent read and a heartwarming story of how God works through tragedy: Mistaken Identity

MDP (Michigan)

This is a well written book that accurately recounts the tragic and miraculous story of Whitney Cerak and Laura Van Ryn. As a member of the church where the Ceraks minister I know the heart and strength of the Cerak family.

This book is riveting and ultimately shows us that God works in wonderful and sometimes unpredictable way to bring people to Him.

The Cerak’s and Van Ryn’s are strong and Godly families who were chosen for the ultimate purpose of winning the lost to God’s saving grace.

This book is inspirational and a reminder to us all to place our priorities on the Eternal.

Earth: The Sequel: The Race to Reinvent Energy and Stop Global Warming (Hardcover)

Earth: The Sequel: The Race to Reinvent Energy and Stop Global Warming (Hardcover)

Editorial Reviews
From Publishers Weekly
Environmental Defense Fund president Krupp and journalist Horn proffer a business-centric prescription for alleviating climate change, coupling the market force of capitalism with technological innovation and entrepreneurial inventiveness. The authors argue in favor of strict federal carbon caps, which would induce innovators to explore new ways to control carbon dioxide emissions. The book notes the global and historical successes of cap and trade mechanisms, such as the Clean Air Act of 1990. Designed specifically to control sulfur dioxide (which causes acid rain), the Clean Air Act cut emissions 30% more than the law required by providing coal plant operators with a financial incentive to modernize. New technologies that would benefit from such a logical, elegant, market-based approach include one as basic as an Arizona natural gas power plant that vents its smokestack waste into a vast greenhouse, where it nourishes algae used for manufacturing biodiesel, and one as a radical as harnessing the kinetic energy of molecules as a power source. This optimistic book brims with similar ideas, balancing jargon-heavy science with engaging profiles of individuals who are blending business and science in an attempt to save the planet. (Mar.)

Now is the Time for Peace–Within and Without: A New Earth

By Janet Boyer “JanetBoyer.com” (Pennsylvania)

“Ego is a conglomeration of recurring thought forms and conditioned mental-emotional patterns that are invested with a sense of I, a sense of self. Ego arises when your sense of Beingness, of ‘I Am’, which is formless consciousness, gets mixed up with form. This is the meaning of identification. This is a forgetfulness of Being, the primary error, the illusion of absolute separateness that turns reality into a nightmare.” — From the book

I have several books, decks and audios by Eckhart Tolle (The Power of Now, Through the Open Door to the Vastness of Your True Being, Stillness Speaks Inspiration Deck, Power of Now Inspiration Cards, and others), but A New Earth is by far the most illuminating, accessible and uplifting.
